I was thinking on my way home from work today, that I might start up a completely free, play by post, good ole’ fashioned role playing game. I want to create a completely unhinged setting. Magical users with access to high tech!
Think of it, typical anime magical girls, but thrown into the world of Star Wars. Wouldn’t that be neat?! Usagi Tsukino finds herself on Tatooine, stumbles into an X-Wing and now is facing off against an Imperial Star Destroyer? Like I don’t have the foggiest idea how that even happened, but it sounds fun as hell!
I mean, since my anime role playing site is just growing weeds and needs some love anyway, why not? Granted, I’ll be the only one there, but I can create some other personalities to play with me. And who knows. Maybe a new member will join up and add to the chaos?
I’m thinking I may just use Big Eyes Small Mouth 2nd Edition RETRO, but rather loosely. Another option I have is the HERO System. Honestly, I have about 30 different game systems to choose from. I haven’t really decided yet, But I think I’m going to at least work on how an anime magical girl or group of magical “girls” stumble their way into the realm of Star Wars!
And since I don’t have an active gaming group, (or really any friends IRL). I’d like to know what ideas any of you might have for this game, story, plot? I’m also interested in what potential game systems you might recommend to play this most awesome adventure!
Obviously, the game would be welcoming to any magical girls (or guys, or theys, from any anime, including originally created Player content. I think I would put the setting somewhere between Episode 4 through 6 in the Star Wars saga.
I’m dreaming of characters like Princess Ayeka from Tenchi Muyo as a Harrison Ford-Han Solo type of Smuggler character— Speaking of which, could you imagine a character like Ryo-ooki as a Jabba the Hut! LOL God, could you imagine…. Jabba mewoing? Priceless! And while I know that the crew of Tenchi Muyo isn’t technically within the magical girl genre, but I’m really open-minded. What about Excel, from Excel Saga as a Jedi, like Luke Skywalker? That would be absolutely hilarious, wouldn’t it?
